Haiti president Jovenel Moïse’s body was ‘riddled with 12 bullets and an eye had been gouged out’ | Daily Mail Online

  • James Solages, a US citizen of Haitian descent and president of a local charity, was taken into custody, according to Haiti’s Minister of Elections and Inter-party Relations Mathias Pierre 
  • Solages is the president of the board of directors of Jacmel First, a charity founded in south Florida in 2019 
  • The charity focuses on ending childhood hunger in Haiti including through education, its website reads
  • Solages’ bio describes him as the ex-chief commander of bodyguards for The Canadian embassy in Haiti, a ‘certified diplomatic agent’ and a budding politician
  • Pierre said at least one of the other suspects arrested is also believed to be a Haitian American
  • Six suspects arrested, four killed and two remain at large following Wednesday’s assassination, cops said 
  • At least two of the men brought in alive were found hiding in bushes by civilians who roughed them up before turning them over to police 
  • Moïse was shot 12 times in Wednesday’s early morning raid on his mansion in the hills above Port-au-Prince
