Mayor Errick D. Simmons Statement:

“I am humbled and thankful to Congressman Thompson to receive such high honor from Congress for public service and leadership. It takes all of us to realize that we have the power through service to solve problems of local communities, to better conditions of the unprivileged citizens, and to influence the world with our faith and our works. Although this honor has my name on it, it represents so many before and after me that commit their lives to public service.”
